The Latin-American Institute for Ecological & Sustainable Development (ILDES) was established in 2002 by a coalition of organizations and institutions from countries around the world with the intention of cultivating hope in Latin America through ecological and sustainable development.

We work together for the design and construction of ecological, sustainable human settlements (Ecovillages).

We help existing and future projects that are:

• preserving and restoring the land and
• teaching design courses of permaculture, forest gardening, renewable energy and ecological building in Latin America.

We are a division of the Trusteeship Institute.
